The Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences (CELS) supports research in stems cells and other fields, and identifies opportunities to commercially exploit emerging technologies.
This is a cutting edge business specialising in world-leading skin testing techniques for cancer and other types of sun damage. The Canada-based company was attracted to North East England to push the commercial development of its skinphysicalTM test, which uses information gleaned from advances in DNA research into sun-damaged cells. CELS and teams from One NorthEast worked with Newcastle University to attract Genesis Dynamics to the region.
